Dr. Robert H. Stubbs is a descendent of George Stubbs, the famous British painter and anatomist. Like his distant relative, Dr. Stubbs combines artistic experience and anatomical training to enhance his work.
Dr. Stubbs helped finance his undergraduate medical training by teaching art and his post graduate residency training by teaching anatomy at the University of Toronto Medical School.
Dr. Stubbs, who was born in Toronto, is a graduate of the University of Toronto. He has Canadian, American and British medical training and has licenses in all three countries. Dr. Stubbs is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery in both Canada (1979) and the United States (1981). Also, he is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons (Canada), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of numerous surgical societies and organizations.
In response to the escalating costs of hospital based cosmetic plastic surgery, Dr. Stubbs, in conjunction with the AAAAPSF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Plastic Surgery Facilities) designed and opened Toronto's first truly ambulatory cosmetic surgery facility, the Cosmetic Surgicentre, in 1984.
